Poly Bags
Plain polythene and BOPP, bought by the bundle.
The unglamorous end of the catalogue, and the fastest. Plain polythene and BOPP bags in ready stock, sold by the bundle, out of the door in two or three working days.
The two builds. LDPE at 50 micron is soft, opaque-ish and open-topped, with no closure — the bag you put produce, loose goods, spare parts or laundry into. BOPP at 40 micron is crystal clear, stiffer, and has a self-adhesive lip that folds over and seals — the bag for bakery items, greeting cards, stationery and anything sold on presentation at a low price.
Why these are cheap. No printing, no cylinders, no minimum worth speaking of. They are made continuously in standard sizes and held in stock. The LDPE bag is food grade; the BOPP bag is what a card shop or a bakery uses when the product has to be seen and kept clean but does not need protecting from anything.
What they do not do. Neither has a meaningful barrier. LDPE has none, BOPP is low. Nothing in this category will keep a product fresh for months, keep light out, or stop oxidation. If you are packing anything with a shelf life that matters, this is the wrong page — start with stand-up pouches or three side seal.
Where they belong. Inside another pack, or between the producer and the shop. A great deal of what gets packed properly at retail travels in a poly bag first, and a lot of retail product sits in a poly bag inside a printed carton. That is exactly what these are for.
Ordering. Minimum 500 pieces on the BOPP, 1,000 on the LDPE, dispatched in two to three working days. Both are ready stock — there is nothing to make, so there is nothing to wait for.
A note on branding. If you want these branded, do not print them. Put a label on. At this price point a printed run costs more than the bags are worth, and our labels start at 1,000 pieces in eight working days.
